In 1788, when the English of the First Fleet landed at Botany Bay to establish Sydney, they discovered a wild and almost virgin country. The first colonies settled on the southern land consisted mainly of convicts who filled the prisons of the British Empire. They cleared and created cities: Sydney , Brisbane , Hobart , Perth, Melbourne , Adelaide ... Free pioneers came later after the discovery of gold veins fantastic in New South Wales and in the center of Victoria in 1851 while pioneering spirit was forged based on equality of opportunity and adventure of immigration.
