Two major types of climate can be detected in the country: Mediterranean to the east and north and tropical in the West and South. However, a more desert climate prevails in the center with a permanent heat, even at night. 
Moreover, the humidity is high, and South and West experiencing monsoon rains between June and September.
The most pleasant time to visit Oman is between October and March period, temperatures are mild, and you avoid the monsoon in the South.

* What to See and Do in Oman

A nature preserve, a strong identity, a tradition of trade, here are some characteristics of a country that just opening up to tourism for the delight of visitors. 
Muscat, the capital, exudes an authenticity that immediately attracted the traveler: a stroll through the old port area, admire the three forts, visit the Oman Museum and the National Museum of Ruwi, stroll on the fish market Mutra and in the souk, to soak in the charm of the various districts of the city. 
Salala is very different, by its very southern location and more tropical climate: hence, discover villages in southern and archaeological sites, especially the ruins of Al-Balid and make a stop at the beautiful beaches of the coast. 
In the north, the coast deserves a special visit: Fort Barka, Sohar port all white and dominated by its unique turn Nakal and its source in the heart of a refreshing oasis, are some of the essential steps this course. 
Finally, if you have time, explore 4x4 red Wahiba sands, beautiful scenery and the Bedouin who live there do not leave you indifférent .

* Oman in practice

You need a visa to enter the country, you will get more easily through a travel agency. 
The current currency is the Omani riyal. The budget required is very moderate as regards the restoration, higher for accommodation: Approximately 70 € for a double room proper, and less than 15 € for an average meal. 
There are no particular health problem. If you venture into the wilderness, do not go alone, and watch out for snakes and scorpions. 
To move within the country, there are flights between Muscat and Salala, but also buses that run between major cities. However, the most economical means of transportation is the collective taxi or minibus, which perform journeys on demand. 
For those wishing to bring back memories of the souk Mutra near Oman, or the Salala, will offer different crafts: incense, traditional clothing, fabrics, jewelry, carpets, dagger .
