Southern Route 7 (Chile)
The Southern Route, one of the world's most extreme, through the Patagonia about 1240 km, between Puerto Montt and Villa O'Higgins. Rarely paved it hugs sublime landscapes made of primary forests, glaciers, pioneer homesteads, turquoise rivers and Pacific waves that come crashing on the coast. Although it is often a succession of ruts and pot-holes, this legendary road yet attracts travelers who cross paths usually no signs marking out. Prudence and foresight highways are in order, because trucks make up the bulk of traffic and weather sometimes make the road almost impassable.
Better from the summer (December to March). Outside this season, the ferries are rare and harsh climates.

Route 66 remains a myth. Stretching over 4000 km between Chicago and California, it passes through Kansas, Texas and Arizona. A journey to live at the wheel of an old Pontiac or Chevrolet, as in the big time. You do not cut burgers and fries, the pie-and sodas served in paper cups. Main Street USA or Mother Road, as it is affectionately known, may well be replaced portion after portion, for highways brand new , his legend is about to expire.
According to the National Historic Route 66 Federation ( www.national66.org ), Which works to preserve this decommissioned road, about 85% of the original road still exist.
